When we are younger, we might have thought how wonderful it would be to get married - it seems romantic and makes us feel like an adult. Of course, it is wonderful and insiring...but not all of the time.
There will be times when our marriage - or any relationship in general - will seem like alot of hard work and there will even be a time when leaving will look like an option you might want to consider.
However, we must remember to look for ways to improve our marriage or relationship. Marriage is like a livin and breathing being. Is has to be fed. It needs space to develop. And sometimes it might need a rest.
Below are some tips I have compiled that will help you make your marriage work in the long term and how to deal with the most common marriage problems.
1. Learn to Forgive
We will alwas have disagreements in a relationship. This is part of the game. You just can't avoid it.
But there is also something known as forgiveness that could immediately smooth the situation in an instant. It just can't be avoided that you will fight or have disagreements. Instead of avoiding fights learn to accept it and deal with it properly.
2. Remember the power of humor.
A married couple must take time to share jokes and other crazy things to decrease tension. Laughter is healing. And it is true: Laughing is healthy - not only for your body and soul, but also for your relationship.
3. Decide together.
Many things in a marriage involve money. And money is one of the major causes for fights or even divorce. For things concerning finances, children's education and upbringing, delegation of household chores, the couple must decide together. One must not be superior over the other.
4. Don't forget the simple things.
For him, he must remember to compliment her and praise her for a job well done. For her, she must be attentive to her husband's needs. Both must enjoy each other's company. Showing affection one for another is essential.
5. Stay intimate.
Yes, intimacy and sex must not waver as the time goes on. As long as the couple feels that they still have a strong attraction and affection for each other, the marriage would be fulfilled.
Marriage is wonderful and sometimes complicated. But as long as both know that they have each other to hold on to, it should be a rewarding relationship. They would be there for each other, “for richer or poorer, in sickness and health, and til death do them part”.

Thank you for great tips, Stefan!I wasn't only looking at the romantic side of the marriage when married, but I remember how things got real all the sudden. Our "commitment to live together" made both of us work on these issues one by one, so I would like to add this on your list. I liked it that you put "humor" in the list. It worked :)
